My bestfriend's baby shower is in a couple of weeks, what should I get her?

I've never shopped for babies! So I'm pretty much clueless as to what to get. This is also my first godchild so I'm pretty excited and want to get her really nice useful things. She's not registered anywhere so please give me ideas, thanks.
