What should I tell him?

I have a friend who recently told me he was molested by his uncle when he was very young. He also told me that his uncle died from AIDS. He's been very nervous lately saying that he's afraid he may have contracted the disease from his uncle. I asked him why he wasn't tested for this a long time ago and he really didn't give me a straight answer. I told him that the best advice I could give him was to go get tested as soon as possible so he could relax or get treatment if needed. He told me that he is really nervous because if he did contract HIV it would have been at least 10 years ago, and he's afraid that he may have it and there will be nothing anyone can do for him at this point. I'm just not sure what to tell him? I went with him to the hospital about a year ago, they did a blood test, the doctor came back and said everything was fine. It wasn't an actual HIV test though so I am not sure if the doctor would have been able to tell anyway. What should I tell him? I'm really clueless because I've never dealt with something like this before. I just don't understand why he is so concerned about it 10 years later.....
