How to upload Video from Camcorder to Computer?

It has a DV in/out, audio/video, and S Video ID-2 ports in the camcorder... I am really clueless, and it uses a tape, and we have been able to hook it up to the t.v. but i couldn't remember how to get it to the computer. help?
