not trying to take away from the other poster but you need something much more real the Yahoo answers... toi answer your questions Consider taking a look at www.heart.org which si the main American Heart Association page, I would also say that IF You Search TGA (re Cardiac) the leakage is more like regurgitation between a valve or valves which separate the chambers... the worse the regurgitation is the more it could threaten your ability to breath well, so Yes, as it worsens you would be aware ,,, shortness of breath and maybe some pains in the chest similar to a heart attack sort of pain (for girls) which is a bit different then for men.. so read up on the AHA site... when you finish and still have questions there are several pages on Facebook of survivors of Open heart surgeries of all kinds including TGA's who might offer you some support....ok ? keep asking
